Each of our Sunburst napkins is printed by hand using traditional wooden blocks. The ground colour is built up by hand too, so you’ll see natural variations in the depth and distribution of colour across the cloth, where the pressure of the block and the hand of the printer have left their mark.

This means the colour is not completely uniform, and no two tablecloths will ever be exactly alike. We think these subtle irregularities are part of what makes hand block printing so special: they’re a visible reminder that your tablecloth has been made by people, not machines.

We’ve photographed the cloth both as a whole, where the overall effect of the print really comes to life, and in close-up. Please do take a look at the close-up images before ordering, as these give the best indication of the natural variation you can expect in the ground colour.

The sunbeam motif adds a playful, uplifting touch to the table, bringing colour and quiet joy to everything from everyday suppers to long, relaxed lunches with friends.

Every piece is printed entirely by hand, so no two are ever quite the same. You may notice small variations in the print: a softer edge here, a faint tide mark where one block meets the next. These aren't flaws; they're the signature of the human hand, and what makes your piece one of a kind.

Care Note - Please Read

The natural pigments in our hand block printed cotton will mellow and soften over time, especially strong, deep colours. This is part of their handmade charm, but to keep your colours at their best for longer, wash sparingly and always very gently.

To keep your piece at its best:

• Hand washing is recommended.
• If machine washing, use a delicates cycle at 20-30°C maximum.
• Wash with mild detergent only: no bleach or harsh chemicals.
• Air dry only, out of direct sunlight.
• Do not tumble dry.
• Iron on a cool setting, on the reverse side.
